Dave brengt eerste nieuwe nummer uit na winnen Mercury-prijs voor debuutalbum ‘Psychodrama’
Dave’s nieuwe nummer ‘Paper Cuts’ verscheen 6 november voor het eerst op social media.
“It’s incredible scenes / You can’t make this up / Two times that a man lost blood / Football and paper cuts,”rapt Dave op de track.
Het is zijn eerste nummer sinds het winnen van de Mercury-prijs in september voor zijn veelgeprezen debuutalbum ‘Psychodrama’.
“I don’t know what to say,” zei Dave destijds in zijn acceptatietoespraak. “I want to firstly thank God. I want to invite my mum up onto stage.
“I want to thank everyone that made this happen, I want to thank all of the exceptional musicians who performed tonight…I respect you all so highly”. Hij bedankte ook de rest van zijn familie en vrienden.
Afgelopen zomer stond hij ook als headliner op de Radio 1 Stage op het Reading and Leeds Festival, wat ertoe leidde dat NME beweerde dat het zijn laatste stap was op weg naar grootheid.
“Britain’s next festival headliner made his claim to greatness, headlining the Radio 1 tent,” schreef NME.
“With a Mercury nomination and a Number One in the bag for his debut album ‘Psychodrama’ in the bag, this summer has reaffirmed that Dave is on his way to being a seriously big deal, and come album two he could well be a headliner.”
